| Dulse is a type of sea vegetable that grows in the cold sea waters of the rocky, north Atlantic coastline. For centuries, locals have picked it from late spring to mid-autumn and sun-dried it for use as a healthy food, an effective medicine, and a potent fertilizer. Our wild-crafted Dulsea is gathered in remote, unpolluted areas and tested regularly to ensure its purity.
Dulse has the salty taste of the sea and may take a little getting used to for some. However, it is a rich source of B vitamins – including B12 – and contains A, C and E vitamins and 20 essential minerals. Dulse is also particularly rich in potassium.
Dried dulse has a soft, chewy texture when eaten plain. A little dulse adds a zesty flavor when sprinkled on vegetables. |
